Priority List

A Priority List is established where the location in which the mooring licence is desired has no vacant private mooring sites available.

Process of accepting a mooring offer:

The applicant will have 14 days from the date of the letter offering a mooring in which to accept the offer.
The applicant will have a maximum of 45 calendar days from the date of the letter offering the mooring in which to:
- Confirm acceptance of offer (within 14 days).
- Have vessel registered in the applicant's name
- Pay appropriate fees.
- Place mooring apparatus in the position determined by the Boating Services Officer.

Note: No extension will be granted (except where the size of the applicant's vessel is unsuitable for the mooring space available).

Where an applicant is unable to accept the offer at the time for reasons including posting overseas or interstate, he/she may request to remain on the Priority List but will revert to bottom of the list.

Where an offer for a mooring is made to an applicant on the Priority List and there is no response within 14 days of the date of the offer or the envelope is returned "Return to Sender", all reasonable steps to contact the applicant will be made. However where the applicant is not able to be located, the name will be removed from the Priority List and no refund of Priority List fees will be issued unless requested in writing.

Keeping applicants up to date

In order to provide applicants with adequate notice of impending offers of a mooring, letters are issued to the top 5 applicants on each priority list every 3 months. These letters state the applicants position and the numbers of mooring issued in that bay in the last 12 months.
