Homebush Bay West - Wentworth Point Master Plan

The Homebush Bay West - Wentworth Point Master Plan was approved by the Minister for Planning in September 2005.

NSW Maritime owns a site at Homebush Bay in 2 holdings of approximately 9 hectares each. The land owned by Waterways is located along Bennelong and Burroway Roads and is separated by the ferry terminal owned by Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA).

The site has been identified for several years as a possible maritime precinct. NSW Maritime and SOPA prepared the Master Plan combining commercial and retail opportunities on the SOPA site with a recreational boating precinct on the eastern portion of the NSW Maritime land.

The Plan aims to meet the needs of the boating public of Western Sydney. Among the facilities proposed is a double boat ramp providing access to the Parramatta River along with a clubhouse and launch facilities for rowing and canoeing. Amenities will also include parking for cars and trailers along with picnic facilities in the adjoining proposed Wentworth Point Park.

The Master Plan for Homebush Bay was publicly exhibited and has received widespread support from the boating public and local residents.

It is anticipated that work on the maritime precinct will commence within 2 years when the existing tenants vacate the site.
