Work to repair concrete panels at the western corner of the promenade at Circular Quay started on Monday, 7 May.
The $600,000 remediation work by NSW Maritime is expected to be completed by the end of August.
NSW Maritime owns and maintains the structure, and is to replace concrete panels under the promenade.
No disruptions to ferry services are expected.
Pedestrians will continue to have access from the Quay through to the Rocks and the Museum of Contemporary Art, via an alternative route around the barricaded work area.
Noise and disruption to normal activity at the Quay is expected to be kept to a minimum.
