Berrys Bay Maritime Precinct

In December 2007, NSW Maritime in conjunction with the State Property Authority called for Registrations of Interest, for private sector development of a maritime precinct at Berrys Bay on the eastern side of the Waverton Peninsula. Registrations of Interest closed on 4 March 2008.

It is envisaged that the precinct would be developed as an on-water and on-land vessel storage facility, complemented by vessel repair, public pick-up and drop-off berths, small craft launching and/or a charter vessel facility, together with associated maritime offices and ancillary uses.

In addition, public foreshore access and adaptive re-use of all structures of heritage significance are key requirements of the development.

It is anticipated that the successful proponent(s) for the precinct will be chosen in the second half of 2008 and that the precinct as developed be operational by 2011.

The Berrys Bay Maritime Precinct site is shown below.
